About Us
Founded in 2004, Solemar Marble is a family owned and managed quarry owner, manufacturer and exporter of high quality natural stone products. Our quarry, factory and the headquarters are located in Denizli, Turkey.
Our monthly production capacity is 50.000 m2 (540.000 sqft) at our high-tech factory and we export 95% of our production to over 25 countries across the globe. Our products range from beautiful black marble that we extract from our own quarry and two types of the world famous Denizli travertine to other travertine colors such as Ivory, Noce and Silver travertine as well as limestone, unique marble and onyx colors from Turkey.
In addition to our standard production, we have also completed numerous projects in different countries. Thanks to our years of experience in the industry, we have a very strong network with various other natural stone quarries and access to multiple natural stone colors from Turkey.
We pride ourselves in employing the highest quality control standards in the industry, which allows us to consistently provide high quality products. The quality control process starts at the quarry with the selection of the blocks by our engineers and raw material experts. We follow a seven-step quality control process at our factory, including the packaging, loading, and shipment of the material to meet our standards and our customers’ expectations.

Bekir Ateş
Founder & President
Founder and President of Solemar, Bekir Ates, was born in Denizli, Turkey. After receiving his Bachelor of Science and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering in Germany, he started Uygar Motor A.S., which was one of the very first factories and exporters in Denizli region. After 19 successful years at Uygar Motor as founding partner, CEO and General Manager, Bekir started Solemar in 1993 as a small trading company and he has been in charge of the company since then. Bekir can speak Turkish, German and Kazakh. He enjoys spending time in his organic garden that he built at the factory.
Banu Ateş
Executive Vice President
Banu Ates, Executive Vice President, was born in Denizli, Turkey. She graduated from the prestigious Denizli Anadolu High School and she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from University of Istanbul. After working at Egebank A.S. as an internal auditor for two years, she moved to the U.S.A. to study Digital Arts at University of California, Irvine, and until 2010 she resided in California, U.S.A. where she managed overseas operations of Solemar. Banu moved back to Turkey in 2010 and she has played a vital role in the success and growth of Solemar since then.
Behlül Ateş
VP of Sales
Behlul Ates, VP of Sales, was born in Denizli, Turkey. After graduating from high school with high honors, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Management from Bogazici University, considered the finest in Turkey, where admission requires scoring in the top 0.01% on the nationwide examination. Behlul worked as Sales Marketing Export Manager for Faber Mermer between 2003 and 2005, as Sales Director for M S International, Inc. in the U.S.A. between 2006 and 2011, and finally as Director of Slab Operations for Bedrosians Tile & Stone in the U.S.A. between 2011 and 2013. He joined Solemar as of late 2013.
In his spare time, Behlul enjoys traveling, photography, trying out different cuisines and drinks all around the world and playing beach tennis.
